Zulkanain Kassim

Mr Zulkanain is a seasoned banking and payments professional with more than 34 years of experience in both domestic and multinational financial institutions and a qualified Chartered Banker. Recognized as a transformational leader with broad experience in Islamic and conventional banking in technology, digital, payments and operations. Recipient of Leadership Award by CEPI Asia in modernizing Malaysia's payment infrastructure, recipient of Transformation Corporate Leader Brand ICON Leadership Award, IT Leaders Award 2023 by APAC CIO Outlook and Payment Transformers Excellent Awards 2024.

Mr Zulkanain joined Bank Rakyat Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia (BKRM) as Chief Information Technology Officer on 12 January 2026.

Mr Zulkanain also served AmBank Group as EVP/Head of Group IT from 1 October 2020 until 31 December 2025 and, prior to that, Affin Bank as Chief Operating Officer from 1 October 2016 until 30 September 2020. During this period, he oversaw the strategy, transformation and operations of IT, digital banking, banking operations, payments, property and logistics, enterprise process and procedure, and customer experience.
